Tiny House – Completed Exterior (from Tumbleweed Shell)

So, I've finished the exterior of my tiny house, and I am very proud of it.

So, I just wanted to take a moment to give you a brief overview.

This tiny house started off as just an unfinished shell.

I got it as a Tumbleweed Barn Raiser.

So, everything about the exterior was completely unfinished when they brought it to me.

There's a video I did of exactly what it looked like when I got it, if you want to check that out.

So, what you are looking at here on the side as cedar shingles.

Each one of those was hand-dipped in stain and sealant and then hung individually on the house.

And then, when what you are looking at down here is cedar bevel.

I used the same stain.

I wanted there to be a two-tone look to the house, and so that is how I accomplished it.

I think it came out wonderfully.

Let's take a look at the roof.

That is a custom cedar roof.

I individually hand-cut every one of those cedar shingles and then hung them individually up there after painting.

I love the way it looks.

The roof is one of my favorite parts of this house.

So, coming around here you will notice that they only thing not completed about the exterior is the front porch area, and that is because I don't have a front door yet.

I decided that will be the very last thing that I make.

This is because the interior of the house is still under construction and I'm going to be moving things in and out, like equipment and furniture, and putting the door will reduce the size of the opening and I don't want that to be a problem during construction, or for it to get damaged during construction, so I will leave that to the very end.

So, here is the front of the house.

I really think that it has a great look.

I love the little bump-out area and I love the little decorative triangle that's up there on the roof.

I really love the way this came out.

So, I'll walk around the back of the house now and you can see the scaffolding that I built to put the roof on.

I can tear that down now.

Let me walk down through here.

This was a major project.

It was a lot of work, but I love the way that it came out.

And I am really looking forward to getting it finished and being able to move into it so I can make it my home.

I will also turn around here so you can see the hitch end of the house because you can really see all the different materials and colors and paints and stains and I really like that.

So, there it is.

That is the exterior of my tiny house.

Time to get started on the inside.
